Israel Report by Curtis McGehee

We are witnessing in Israel a rapid and strong growth, with the gathering of Arab speaking people coming to Christ. Working together with Pastor Marwan Beem, we have seen the Lord open doors across Israel. The majority of the Pastors of the churches we are associated with in Israel, have received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and believe in the power and gifts of the Spirit.

These pastors and churches are on the front line of evangelism; many of them in Muslim neighborhoods and in the West Bank. So many of these churches face considerable persecution for their commitment to Christ. In the news we hear much about the recruitment of young men and women to the demonic-inspired terrorist movement called ISIS. The Holy Spirit of God is also recruiting and calling young people to Christ and His Church.

We know the plan of God is the local church. There is a strong Arab Pentecostal church in Israel. This church believes the same as you and me. These are churches that depend on the power of the Holy Spirit. The majority of these are first generation believers; they have no Azusa Street revival or any Pentecostal history to look back to, yet, like the pioneers of the American Pentecostal movement, they have a deep-rooted faith in the promises of God.

The value of the Arab Pentecostal church in Israel is indescribable. I am humbled in the presence of these precious people; I am awed at their courage and devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ. These churches are working alongside the Christian Jewish community in Israel. These Arab speaking congregations are strong supporters of the State of Israel and many of their sons and daughters serve in the Israeli military.

A flood of refugees from across the Middle-East has come into Europe. Most of these are Muslims, and many of them are coming to the churches in Europe looking or answers. These pastors in Europe do not speak the Arab language, but have contacted the ministers we work with in Israel, and have requested that the ministers come to Europe and preach the Gospel to the refugees. These ministers from Israel are going to Europe and, as a result, many are coming to Christ.

God’s promise is through Isaac, and we must stand with Israel. The Church is often viewed as anti-Arab, but we must never forget our Christian Arab speaking brothers and sisters or the Jewish Christians and others who are caught in this conflict. Millions on both sides need to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The way we bless Israel is by taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ to this nation.

Myanmar Report by Andrea Sekhin

We had a great School of Christ in Magway which is in Central Myanmar. The students were made up of pastors, leaders, and young people. This was our second SOC in this area. Our first School was one year ago, and we have seen a great harvest for Christ.

Christianity is very weak in this part of Myanmar. The area is filled with many Buddhist Temples, and the Christians that are there need support. Through the School of Christ, the Lord has worked in the hearts of these students and their spiritual lives have changed. They all returned to their hometowns filled with the Holy Spirit.

The SOC has had a great influence on the young people, because in Myanmar, Buddhists can take young people away from their families and turn them into monks. We praise God that these young students in the School of Christ had an opportunity to get a very good foundation for their Christian lives. I believe they will become good vessels in the hands of our God, and the Word of God that was planted in their hearts will bear great fruit.

I’m very grateful for your prayers and material support for the School of Christ in South East Asia.

Vietnam Report by David Jacobson

The Day Brother Clendennen went home to be with the Lord, he uttered, “Fruit, fruit, fruit everywhere.”

Looking back over the School of Christ we just finished, we can testify that his utterance was even more prophetic than we could have imagined for Vietnam. The nation of Vietnam was very special to Brother

Clendennen. Years before the Vietnam War, the Lord spoke to him in a prayer meeting in Eagle Lake, Texas, just one word—Saigon. He went to a map to find out where it was located. In 1968 he and his wife, Janice, traveled to minister in Saigon, Vietnam for the first time.

The first School of Christ was taught in 2008 by Brother Ken Geisendorfer in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Other Schools followed, not only in Ho Chi Minh, but also in the Northern part of Vietnam.

At the request of the Inter-Evangelistic Movement, we returned to teach the School to their senior pastors and leaders. They were so hungry for the Word of God. Right from the beginning of this School, you could feel the seriousness and attentiveness of the class. Students were greatly touched during the morning and evening prayer meetings. The interpreter was so on fire for God, and was so devoted, that when he received our offering to him, he gave it back to the SOC. His only focus is Jesus and the Kingdom of God.

After prayer one morning I was asked if some of the students could give the testimony about the revival in Ca Mau, Vietnam. They reported to us that the revival spread so quickly in Ca Mau that believers that had only been saved for six months were placed over as sixty new converts. Others that had been saved as little as eight months, have been placed over one hundred new converts. Over the last three years, three thousand people have received Christ, and one thousand are faithfully attending church. Because many lived too far away to attend the church, they have created approximately one hundred cell churches. Many of the cell churches are running up to one hundred people. There is a great need in this area for leadership training.

During a SOC lunchbreak, I asked the Ca Mau students approximately how many people were receiving Christ each day in that area. They told me that as many as thirty to forty people were coming to Christ during healing services; and during personal witnessing as many as two or three per day.

The students from Ca Mau that were attending the School testified that this revival was brought about by prayer that the SOC taught. When they first started to pray, they knew they had to go out and witness. Only a few received Christ; but they began to pray 24/7, and now people are drawn to the church by the Spirit to get saved.

Several days into the School, the pastor of the church where the revival started came. He was a graduate from the 2008 class taught by Brother Geisendorfer. The pastor testified to the SOC students the importance of prayer and its effect on the ongoing revival. The pastor said that at first, getting up at 6:00 am was very difficult. After a while it became a way of life and he could not wait to get to prayer each morning. He testified how important the Blood Series is, due to the multitude of deliverances that they have been challenged with.

He told how the neighbors that lived next door to the church became very angry with them because of the commotion, and would throw rocks at the people. After a while they moved and the church now has the house, and they are using it to house people that have come for prayer. People are coming to the church that need healing and deliverance, and they come to stay until their needs have been met. Their greatest desire is that we return to have a special School for the Ca Mau leaders who desperately need the training.

The people that God used to bring this revival were totally illiterate. They could not read or write their own Vietnamese language. They have now led businessmen, doctors, lawyers, dentists, and all other professionals, along with the everyday worker to the Lord.

The pastor of the Ca Mau church expressed his gratitude to Brother Clendennen for leaving the Vietnamese this gift, to the SOC for continuing in the work, to Brother Ken Geisendorfer for coming and teaching, and to us who are continuing to bring the School of Christ to Vietnam. Please keep this work in your prayers.

Prison Report

We are seeing a great revival come to the prisons through the School of Christ Correspondence Course. The School of Christ is sent free to all who are currently in prison. If you know of someone who would like to receive the SOC material send us their mailing information. Here are two testimonies we received from inmates in the last few weeks whose lives have been changed.

“I want to thank you for allowing me to do this intense Bible study. I am so grateful the Lord used you as a vessel to help me find the Lord I have been seeking.” – Donald

“I want to be a true servant of God and a true disciple. This course has pointed me in the right direction and changed my life.” – Roy

We would like to share some testimonies from students going through the School of Christ Correspondence Course.

India Report by Noah Middleton

What a time we had in India! It was not an easy road as no one has been to India for quite some time with the School of Christ. The superintendent who had invited me had never heard of Brother Clendennen, but he had heard of the School of Christ.

We had 30 students—half were pastors, and the remaining students were praise and worship leaders, Sunday School teachers, and other ministry leaders. The students had a very difficult time with the discipline of the School, but by the third day the Lord began to move in their hearts. The class swelled to over 40 students as the word went out about what was taking place in the School. Some even sat against the outside of the church walls and listened while we preached the Word of God.

We went out into the village and laid hands on many people that were sick. The following day we had two ladies come saying they had been healed of fever after we prayed.

The end of the first week, on Friday afternoon, we had a van full of Hindu radicals come to kill me and to cause trouble. Praise God, the superintendent’s son saw them and we had about fifteen minutes to clear the place out. When they found an empty church with nothing happening, they all left. I instructed everyone to study the book of Romans over the weekend, and we started the School up again on Monday. We added an extra lesson a day to make up for the lost time.

The village where we were is very dangerous (for safety reason we are not including the name of the village). The pastor of the church we used had recently been murdered, but the Lord protected us while we were there. I just received an email from the new pastor saying that eight new souls have been added to the Kingdom of God and have been baptized since we ran the SOC in that village! Praise God!!

The Lord is so very faithful. We are looking forward to what the Lord will do in India and the surrounding areas as the Lord moves us forward and puts us in touch with the right people.

Russia Report by Joel Pledge

West Russia has been greatly impacted by the School of Christ and the revival fire of the Holy Spirit. Last December we preached the first week of the School of Christ in Smolensk, Russia. The local pastor, Andrey Vladimervich, graduated in 1997 from a School of Christ in Kemerovo, Russia, which was taught by Pastor B.H. Clendennen. His roommate at that School was Andrey Sekhin, our Field Director. Pastor Vladimervich was baptized in the Holy Spirit during the School in 1997. He testified that the School literally changed his life and ministry. His wife testified that after attending the School he came home a completely different person.

Andrey Sekhin went on to work with the School of Christ in Siberia and Asia, but recently contacted his old friend about having a School in the West Russia region. We have had two sessions: the first in December, 2015, and the second in April, 2016. There is no doubt that God has changed lives in the Smolensk Region. Many churches came together to participate in the School. There were 50 plus students every day in the prayer meetings and preaching sessions. In the evening the meetings were focused upon the teaching on the Holy Spirit, and they were open to the entire community. The church was filled with people eager to learn about the Holy Spirit and His work in their lives. Some 30-40 people were baptized in the Holy Spirit during these two weeks of the School of Christ.

Many people were healed. A large number of people made first-time commitments to Christ! Two men brought an unbelieving woman from their community to the School. God saved her and filled her with the Holy Spirit. She was a completely new person. We saw revival come to West Russia.

The excitement of the revival in Smolensk spread to other areas as well. In April we had a session in the city of Bryansk, just 200 miles south of Smolensk. The churches in this area have struggled in the past, but God rained down a refreshing of His Spirit. Many people were baptized in the Holy Spirit for the first time. One woman who had been in the church for years, received the Holy Spirit and could not stop speaking in tongues for days! She wasn’t sure what was happening in her life, but the pastor assured her it was the Holy Spirit of God working in her life. Another woman was under doctor’s care for problems with her kidneys. When she went back to the doctors after the meetings, she testified that the doctors could find nothing wrong. All of her tests were normal. She was praising God for a healing. Each night the altars were filed with people who were seeking God. Oh, that we all would hunger and thirst for God’s presence. He will draw nigh to us if we will only draw nigh to Him.

Please continue to pray and give to the School of Christ. God is making a difference in the lives of people everywhere through this ministry. One woman wrote that 300 lives would never be the same because of the ministry of the School of Christ. I believe that these 300 will affect many more lives as they minister and pray in the power of the Spirit!

SOC Transforms Lives of High School Students by Richard Goebel

SOC Transforms Lives of High School Students by Richard Goebel

In November we traveled to La Paz, Bolivia, for a week of services and to graduate students that had completed the School of Christ. La Paz is the highest administrative capital in the world, resting on the Andes’ Altiplano plateau more than 11,975 ft. above sea level.

The people were very attentive to the Word of God, and after many of the services the people were seeking God, repenting, and worshiping at the altar for quite a while.

The students were so affected by the School of Christ. The graduation was wonderful with tremendous testimonies of what the Lord had done through the lessons of SOC. One brother said, “The School challenged in a way that my words cannot say. So much of what we have been doing in our churches is not Scriptural. This School has made Christ real to us.” Another brother, Joel said, “The lessons of this School have made us different people. It has affected our prayer and our study of God’s Word, and it is affecting our churches.”

While there I met a group of High School students that had attended a previous School. They had been so affected that they told others. During the services, these young people were rejoicing in the Word. They gathered around us after the services and wanted us to know that they had heard the lessons from the School of Christ, and that they were committed to following the Truth of God’s Word. They said that they are fasting and praying on the campus, they are witnessing on the streets, and they are praying with young people. They are believing God to send revival. There was a genuine love and hunger for God among these young people.

The pastors that we graduated, and other graduates from previous Schools that we met, were serious men of God. They spoke about the great work that lies before them of reaching their country with the message of Pentecost.

There is a great need to reach the indigenous population across the top of the Andes Mountains. These people live in almost complete isolation, and we are going to have to reach them. We had to travel two hours further north into these areas to see the people, the culture, and the great need. We must reach these areas with the Gospel while Christ gives us time. I ask that you please pray for Bolivia and the great and effectual work of the School of Christ.

I pray that this report will encourage you to give to the work of the School of Christ as we labor to go to the unreached, and preach Christ.
